Lourdes da Luz (styled to stage name Lurdez of Light ), is a singer , rapper and songwriter Brazilian . She is a member of the Mamelo Sound System group .

Lurdez was born in São Paulo , mother of one child, started her love for rap in 1994, and towards the end of the 90’s, she joined the hip hop group Mamelo Sound System , as main and secondary vocals. ^[ 2 ]

She started her solo career in 2009. In 2010 she released her first single, Andei , ^[ 3 ] to promote her first solo studio recording, the EP Lurdez da Luz (album) . ^[ 4 ] This track also received a music video, which was nominated for Video Music Brasil 2011 as “Best Music Video”. ^[ 5 ] Lurdez, still in 2008, recorded a collaboration with the group 3 na Massa , on the track “Sem Fôlego”, for their first studio album . ^[ 6 ]
